A Dutch aid worker, Anja de Beer, who was abducted by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan’s capital, had been released.
The release comes after 81 days of captivity, the Dutch Foreign Minister, Bert Koenders, said in a statement.
“I’m pleased to hear that Anja de Beer has been released, putting an end to 81 long days of uncertainty.
“I spoke with her, and it was very reassuring to hear she is in good health, she is in the Dutch embassy in Kabul,” Koenders said.
It is still unclear who abducted de Beer as no group has taken responsibility for the abduction. (dpa/NAN)
