African strikers Didier Drogba and Obafemi Martins are both in the run for the T&T MLS Goal of the Week honours after their splendid display for their respective clubs last weekend. Drogba made a remarkable show on Saturday night, scoring a hat trick to power Montreal Impact to a huge 4-3 home win against the Chicago Fire.
Martins on his part got a look-in or his finish of Clint Dempsey’s wonderful chipped ball in Seattle’s 2-1 home win against Toronto FC on Saturday.
Aside the African duo, Philadelphia forward Conor Casey, FC Dallas attacker Michael Barriors and New England Revolution midfielder Diego Fagundez complete the roster of five players vying for the big award.
According to information on the official website for the MLS, the winner will be announced on Friday. It should be noted that Obafemi Martins has proudly won the Goal of the Week Award three times this season.
