Former Super Eagles winger, Victor Ikpeba, on Wednesday, urged the Nigeria Football Federation to organise more international friendly matches for the Super Eagles, so as to help the team blend in.
The former AS Monaco star told journalists in Port Harcourt after the Super Egales game against their Nigerien counterparts on Tuesday.
“I hope the Nigeria Football Federation will line up more friendly matches for these players. This will make them blend, get used to one another, and that was what was lacking in their match against Tanzania.
“It will take some time for the new players to blend, but I believe it`s possible,” he said.
Ikpeba said the friendly against Niger Republic was good for the players who did not play in Tanzania and also for the coach to assess their style of play.
He said more friendly matches would put the team in good shape to prepare for the “ big clash“
against Egypt in six months’ time.
“Where the Eagles should get it right is to go away from home and win games away from home.
“The friendly matches will be very important for the team to put them in shape for more challenges,” he said.
