Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State on Wednesday formally accepted to seek re-election in the November 21 governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wada declared his intention during a meeting with members of PDP elders and critical stakeholders in the state.
Wada said his decision to seek second term in office was in response to repeated calls from the people especially PDP elders from across the three senatorial districts of the state.
With his declaration to contest the election, the Elders Council and the critical stakeholders have decided to procure the nomination form for the governor at the PDP headquarters in Abuja on Friday.
PDP national headquarters had declared that there would be no automatic ticket for Wada.
