A group, the Youths for the Actualisation of Justice, has called on the judiciary to remain alive to its duties of dispensing justice without fear or favour.
The group, which made the call in Abuja yesterday, lauded the verdict of the tribunal that sacked Governor Darius Ishaku and returned Aisha Alhassan as winner of the election.
In a statement signed by its president, Isah Shuaibu, the group said it is only by so doing that Nigerians, especially the common man will have confidence in the system.
Acccording to Shuaibu, the verdict has revived the hope of the common man in the system.
He said, “The tribunal exhibited uncommon boldness in the judgement delivery and we commend the judges for it. We also urge the Appeal Court judges to look at the merit of the ruling and do the needful”.
“Taraba State has been yearning for good governance for a long time and we know that Hajiya Aisha will work for the state. She is a woman who worked for everything she has achieved.
“She knows the problem of the common man and she will ensure that the problems bedevilling the state, especially that of insecurity is tackled. During the elections, we saw how she rallied support from both sides of the state.
