Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, yesterday swore in Prof. Bashir Garba as the secretary to the state government (SSG) and Imam Imam as special adviser, Media and Public Affairs.
Garba is the immediate past rector of Sokoto State Polytechnic, while Imam was Tambuwal’s spokesman when he was the speaker, House of Representatives.
Speaking shortly after he administered the oath of office on the new appointees, the governor said that their appointments were based on merit.
“The new SSG is a seasoned administrator with decades of wealth of experience in the public service.
“Imam Imam is a veteran journalist who knows his onions and he had diligently held same position when I was speaker of the House of Representatives,’’ he added.
