PDP Targeting 30 States In 2019 – Sheriff

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, yesterday said the party had a target of winning 30 states in 2019.

The national chairman of PDP stated this when the Bauchi State chapter of the party paid him a solidarity visit at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.

This comes as former minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Mohammed, has declared that he is ready to make the needed sacrifice to rebuild the party in Bauchi State.

Sheriff while charging the party members to be united in the state added that “we must bring our party back to 1999. I want a situation where by next election our governors will get at least 30 states.”

Sheriff who described PDP’s performance in Bauchi State in 2015 as a disaster, added that if members of PDP in the state decide to work together nothing can stop them from winning in totality.

He added, “I think as matter of urgency we should have a meeting of leaders and youths together to find solution immediately. I know you have started something but we must finish it as a matter of urgency.

“Call all leaders so that we can meet to find solution and have a united home. If we get that, to produce one million votes will be easy. That is what we are targeting. We have to go back to Bauchi State of 1999, 2003 to 2011.”

Speaking earlier, former minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Mohammed, who vied for the national chairmanship of PDP with Sheriff, conceded that God gives and takes power, adding “your success is our success.”

He said party members “in the North East believe you are the most apt to have the mantle and take us to Promised Land.”

He warned against issues of impunity and arrogance that caused the party to fail in the last election.

He assured that the party at the state will endeavour to put all its difference in all our chapters are resolved.
