The new executive of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Chairmen has reaffirmed their loyalty to the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led PDP national leadership.
The meeting of the party chairmen which held in Abuja was also the first for the new chairman of the PDP States Chairmen, Hon. Paul A.
Ekpo, who is also the chairman of the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the party.
The communiqué issued after the secret meeting reads in part: “After several deliberations on the state of affairs in the party and in the nation in general, the state chairmen acknowledging the dexterity of the Caretaker Committee unanimously declared support for the Senator Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee.
“The chairmen also thanked stakeholders and members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the Governors Forum led by H. E. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, the PDP Caucus in the National Assembly for their contribution to the wellbeing of the PDP.”
Other members of the new exco are, Hon. Felix Hassan, Kaduna State as the deputy chairman, Hon. Francis O. Ogoru, Nassarawa as the secretary, Alhaji Abdulrahman Bobboi, Adamawa as the treasurer and Barr. Oyekachi Nwebonyi, Ebonyi as the Public Relations Officer, PRO.
They stated that 19 states chairmen including the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Borno State chapter of the PDP, Hon. Shettima Shehu, were present at the meeting.
The communique also added that about eight other chairmen who could not be present at the meeting due to some commitments in their states sent in apologies.
