Delta State Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa on Wednesday bemoaned the dilly-dally approach to the implementation of the National Health Act (NHA), stating that the absence of funding for primary healthcare system might have stalled the act.
Okowa spoke at the 10th annual fellow congress and scientific conference of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN).
He called for ‘strong advocacy’ to assist President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to embrace the implementation of the NHA.
He opined that more than eight months after it was passed into law last December, no substantial policy has been made to that effect.
