A House of Assembly member, representing Argungu and Augie constituency, Alhaji Bello Dantani (Magajin Rafi) on Sunday in Argungu Local Government of Kebbi State, empowered 250 youths and women including party executives from 21 wards of Argungu and Augie local Governments Areas of the state.
During the event which was attended by Governor Atiku Abubakar of Kebbi State and politicians in the area, the lawmaker distributed 100 tailoring machines and 150 grinding machines to both elated beneficiaries.
The lawmaker said that the distribution of the items was part of his effort to complement government’s drive towards providing jobs and reducing poverty in the society especially amongst women and youths who played vital role in promoting change in Nigeria
He said: “I have not forgotten how you sacrificed to bring change by voting us into office, today this is just part of what I intend for my people “.
Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu who was the special guest at the event reiterated the commitment of his government to empower the youths through agriculture. He urged the youths to avail themselves of the current loan scheme being embarked upon by both the state and federal government to empower farmers in the state.
Bagudu also urged politicians to redeem their campaign pledges to the people who voted them in.
