Kogi Guber: Wada Visits PMB, Seeks Level Playing Ground

Kogi State governor and flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the November 21 governorship election, Capt Idris Wads has sued for a level playing field for all participating political parties, saying it is absolutely necessary in the interest of peace.

The governor, who spoke to State House Correspondents, yesterday, after a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari boasted that his performance would secure him a second term.

He stated that the flagging off of his campaign on Tuesday recorded an impressive turnout, an indication that he is in the good books of the people of the state.

His words: “I thank God that I am the candidate of the PDP for the election. Yesterday (Tuesday), we had a tumultuous turnout of our supporters and members of our party when I launched my senatorial campaign at the Eastern Senatorial Zone of Kogi State at Ayingba. It was a very successful rally and the turnout of people.

“In terms of preparation, we are working hard. I am also working with security agencies to ensure that there is a secured and safe environment for our people in the course of the campaign and during the election.

“I will tell the people of the state to keep faith because we have a transparent President. Provided a level playing field is created and security is tightened, any miscreant dealt with in the course of the election, people given the opportunity to express their will, I believe that on the basis of performance I have laid down over the last three and a half years, our people will provide an overwhelming support for my candidacy. All we need is a level playing field.”
