A senator representing Kogi central, Senator Mohammed Ohiare and former governorship aspirants who lost out in the last governorship primary in the state has gang up against the former governor of Lagos State and national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the choice of deputy governorship candidate of the party. They accused him of meddling in the politics of the state.
Briefing newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, a chieftain of the party Chief Olu David Akinola said Senator Ohiare and the former aspirants were bitter over the choice of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke who is a member of the House of Representatives, representing Lagos State as deputy governorship candidate of the party.
According to them, Tinubu should not meddle in Kogi politics. They vowed to work against the party if Hon Faleke is not replaced, saying Kogi is not Lagos.
They chided the party’s candidate Prince Abubakar Audu for accepting the choice of Tinubu who is a resident of Lagos and has lost touch with his people at home.
He added: “We expect Audu to pick his running mate from among the aspirants that lost out to him, especially from the central senatorial zone and not from west but to our surprise Tinubu gave him someone and he accepted him.
