Delegates to this weekend’s primary election of the All Progressives Party (APC) for the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State have been urged to be true agents of change for the state and not be swayed by the unproductive political antics of the past.
An aspirant, Dr. Yaqeen Abdullahi Habeeb, made the call while addressing some party loyalists in Lokoja, the state capital, saying what the state needs now is to inject a new hand with new vision that will transform the state.
“Our desire is to change from the old songs that have retarded the development of the state since its creation, go for a new personality that knows where the shoe pinches as the opportunity has come to make the change,” he said, noting that posterity would not forgive the delegates if they fail to seize this opportunity to put the state on the right path.
Habeeb noted that he is in a better position to make the desired change happen because of his vast experience in both human and financial management and his worldwide connections that will not only hasten the change but also actualise the hopes and aspirations of Kogi.
