The Kano State House of Assembly on Thursday impeached its chief whip, Zubairu Mamuda, for recognizing the former governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as the state leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mamuda represents Madobi constituency, the country home of Kwankwaso.
The impeachment followed a motion moved by a member representing Nassarawa Local Government Area, Ibrahim Gama, on the floor of the house.
Gama, otherwise known as Lugard, stressed that Mamuda’s removal became necessary due to his disloyalty to the governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The house unanimously adopted the motion and immediately removed Mr. Mamuda.
The members then replaced Mamuda with Labaran Madari, a member representing Warawa constituency.
