Contrary to insinuations and rumour making the rounds that the first runner-up in the September 3rd primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State, Dr. Segun Abraham had dump the party for Alliance for Democracy (AD), Abraham has refuted the rumour, saying he will not dump the party despite the current challenges.
Abraham who said this at a meeting with his Support Group in Akure, the state capital during the weekend vowed to reclaim his mandate which had been allegedly given to the Governor -Elect, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.
Abraham who was represented at the meeting by the Director General of the group, Hon. Kunle Eko Davies also urged his supporters not to be worried about misinformation flying around about the ongoing case at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
While denying working for AD in the last governorship election, Abraham noted that he and his supporters worked for the success recorded by the party during the last governorship election in the state.
According to him,” We worked for APC because that is our party. We are members of the big family of APC . People knows what are fighting for .We are are saying this because of the rumours making the round that we are no longer in APC and that we worked for AD during the last governorship election.
“We are not supporting AD . We are not a member of any forming Mega Party . we belong to APC . About the forthcoming inauguration, we are not yet ready for that now. We are still busy with how to retrieve our mandate . Don’t go to where they are going to beat you .
“We belong to the same party but Dr. Abraham did not ask us to attend or not to attend the forthcoming inauguration but we are not happy because of the way they robbed us our mandate that is what we are asking for now. We are happy because our part won that election but we believe that the person who won on behalf of the party was not the candidate of our party .
“Those that are spreading the rumors are novice in the politics. Dr. Abraham said until the end of this matter, no member of this group that must attend any meeting with the other group apart from Abraham Support Group.
“Remember that the party before the primary set up a three man committee and the committee gave their verdict after the primary. The case would be concluded soon and we will retrieve our mandate.
He, however vowed to continue to pursue the course of his mandate until it is retrieved, saying efforts by the Akeredolu’s lawyer to delay justice on the matter will soon be frustrated
