Following the crisis that rocked the Nasarawa state House of Assembly over allegations of financial inducement to allow for the appointment of sole administrators in local governments, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will today commence mediation between the warring parties.
One of the six suspended lawmakers, who are now popularly called ‘the six wise men’ in public discourses in the state, Hon. Makpa Malla, said that the party hierarchy has warded into the matter with aim of finding a lasting solution.
He hinted that I order to give the leadership of the APC its due respect to the intervention of the party, the suspended lawmakers have also halted their plans to institute legal action against their suspension, which he described as unfair.
Malla noted further that the lawmakers also called off their scheduled programme with Channels television so as to avoid heating up the already critical situation involving the Assembly.
When contacted, the state secretary of APC, Alhaji Aliyu Bello, said the meeting which holds today is aimed a amicably resolving the impasse in the interest of the entire state.
He said as the custodian of the collective interest of the party, it cannot fold its arm when lawmakers who are largely of the APC are involved in a squabble which can easily be resolved.
the party’s scribe disclosed that the party leadership would leave no stone unturned to ensure that the problem is resolved and to see to it that happened does not repeat itself again.
