Kano Pillars welcome Heartland in Kano for Wednesday’s Nigeria topflight clash as they hope to revive their title charge.
Coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru’s side lost narrowly 1-0 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium with visitors looking set to leverage on their slim first leg win to hurt their hosts.
Heartland have never won at Pillars in 19 meeting in all competitions, except their 1-0 away win in the Caf Champions League in 2009.
And they have accrued 30 points – seven more than Pillars on head-to-head record ahead of the 20th meeting since 2007.
After Sunday’s 2-1 home win against Lobi Stars, the reigning Nigeria Champions will hope to consolidate on their newly found revival under coach Baba Ganaru.
On-the-road, Heartland will crave for their first win and at least fourth draw against Kano Pillars in the league to maintain their push for continental places.
Kano Pillars are 7th on the NPFL log with 30 points, while Heartland with 33 points hang on the fifth spot both after 20 games.
