Kabiru Ayinde has claimed that Abia Warriors deserve to be ‘among the best’ as they sit second in the table after playing 13 games in the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The defender believes that Kennedy Boboye’s side can remain near the summit of the NPFL come the end of the season, and also praised the work of the former Sunshine Stars gaffer.
“We have worked hard for a good start,” Ayinde said.
“And we are in that position because of the work we have put in. I expect it to continue for a long time to come.
“This club has to among the best. Clearly it is too early to talk about our goals [for the season], but we have fought for every game like it is our last, and it seems to have worked so far. This club deserves to be among the best.
“The coach has been able to convey to the group what it means to play for Abia Warriors. He has created a style of play that everyone can identify as ours.
“Everything I have ever dreamed of is coming true,” he said. “I am trying to bring to my teammates all my experiences and knowledge. And it seems to be working.
“We are leaving our skin to make the fans proud of us. We will continue with this work, and I want to thank all the supporters for their efforts. They are the ones that take this team forward,” he concluded.
