Award winning gospel artiste, Lara George has dropped two new singles. The songstress has been releasing songs upon songs including hits like ‘Dansaki’ after taking a break few years ago to nurse her kids.
The new singles are ‘Oba Ogo’ and ‘Imela’. Lara since 2005 has been doing what she knows best, singing with her group, Kush. Her many songs recorded in five albums are a proof to the fact that the lady is anointed and talented. The albums include Lara George, Higher, The Medley Album (Over 60 praise songs), Forever In My Heart and Love Nwantinti. She has performed in many concerts including ‘EXPERIENCE’ acclaimed to be the biggest gathering of people in a concert in this clime.
Lara George, nee Bajomo began her music career at the University of Lagos, where she joined the campus fellowship choir. She was part of the musical group Kush which made waves in the recent past. The members of the group which included TY Bello, Dapo Torimiro and Emem Ema unfortunately parted ways shattering hopes.
Lara packed the pieces of her shattered dreams and went solo releasing her debut album entitled ‘Forever In My Heart’. It includes the hit single ‘Ijoba Orun’ released in 2008. The album earned her several awards and nominations including Voice of the Year at the Nigeria Music Awards, NMA 2008 and also the Best African Female Gospel Artiste category at the 2011 African Gospel Music Awards, AGMA.
She is married to Gbenga George, a legal practitioner and music entrepreneur. Lara has two children, namely Tiaraoluwa and Adeola.
