Hell was let loose on Sunday in Ilesa, Osun State when a policeman driving an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) allegedly rammed into an electric pole along Egbeidi Street and killed two siblings of the same parent.

Apparently angered by the circumstances leading to the untimely death of the kids, angry mob unleashed terror on the ‘A’ Division Police Station at Ayeso and vandalised all the operational vehicles parked in the station including other valuable property and police quarters inside the station.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident. She therefore appealed to the residents of Ilesa to remain calm, assuring that the matter would be investigated. She added that the errant policeman would be brought to justice.

She described the incident as a case of accident, saying that the errant policeman explained that police officer driving the APC car   lost control and hit an electric pole which eventually electrocuted the kids.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, Odoro said that all operational vehicles in the station, private cars and police quarters were vandalised by the angry mob.

She therefore appealed to the residents of Ilesa to remain calm, assuring that the matter would be investigated. She added that the errant policeman would be brought to justice.
