A man suspected to have being among those that killed a young man at Layinka Street, Ajegunle area of Lagos State, has been arrested.
The suspect, simply identified as Osha, was arrested on Christmas Day by members of the vigilante group in Ajegunle, Orile.
Members of the vigilante group were said to have battled hard to nab the suspect, following attempts by his accomplices to foil his arrest.
It could be recalled that Osha, who is suspected to be a member of a cult group and armed robbery gang that has been terrorising Ajegunle, was on operation with members of his gang, who were stabbing and robbing people of their valuables, when they killed the young man.
The victim, Wale who worked for De Lovers Hotel, Oduduwa Street, in Ajegunle, was going back to the hotel after going out to buy food, when they attacked him with bayonets.
Osha had denied culpability in the murder, insisting that he only stabbed the victim in the head with his bayonet and that it was one of his accomplices identified simply as Blacky, who stabbed him in the stomach.
It was also gathered that the victim was rushed to St. Milla’s Hospital, Ugbenwankwo in Ajegunle, where doctors battled to save his life but he later gave up the ghost.
The suspect was handed over to policemen attached to Ajegunle police station, where the police, yesterday, said they had mapped out a strategy to arrest the fleeing accomplice.
