PMB Working Hard To Relaunch Nigeria’s Image – NIPR

The chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), capital city chapter, Tayo Hastrup, has called on Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari, who he said, is working hard to relaunch Nigeria’s image all over the world.

Hastrup who spoke with journalists in Abuja stressed the need for national integrity adding that Nigerians must support the country in every way, have deep trust and confidence in each other and be part of project Nigeria.

Speaking on the sidelines of the official launching of the chapter’s maiden magazine, Hastrup maintained that “If we can’t have a national conference, what the present government is doing will be a direction for NIPR and indeed all Nigerians to support.”

He added that “Image laundering and policy is very important, but the president is already helping us in the aspect of image laundering. He is a man of integrity, a man the developed countries believe in and you can see him travelling. As the number one citizen he is helping us to relaunch our image all over the world.”

He stated that the NIPR as professionals, will create programmes and policies that will further support the image of the country, while calling on Nigerians to support the government’s anti-corruption fight in order to reposition Nigeria on the path of greatness.

However, Hastrup emphasised the need for an NIPR member to be made to head the National Orientation Agency (NOA) going forward. He stressed the need for anyone practicing public relations in any establishment of government to be a professional member of NIPR for the job of Nigeria’s image making to be properly done.

“We are campaigning against quackery and we believe that NOA is a place that somebody who is well experienced and a professional should head, to do the job very well. You can’t just put anybody in that organisation, that is what we are campaigning for,” Hastrup added.
