The Sun Publishing Nigeria limited in partnership with the Akpabioism Centre for Leadership Development (ACLD), Akwa Ibom State, has concluded plans to stage a mega fair tagged: Security\Infrastructure Summit.
Speaking in an interview in Uyo, the State capital, the chancellor of the centre, Mr. Bassey James, explained that the fair became necessary to showcase the rich human and material resources that abound in the South-South and Southeast regions of Nigeria.
Billed for April, the summit, according to James aimed at bringing to the fore the essential natural resources in the areas of mining, crude oil, gas, agriculture, manufacturing, telecommunication, textiles, commerce, banking and the expertise that could harness such potentials for national development.
Besides he disclosed that the forum would congregate security experts who would inculcate in the people the culture of peace, unity and togetherness as the needed panacea for growth in the regions.
“The recent political killings in Rivers and Bayelsa State over election matters does not portend any good for the region”, he stressed and called on traditional and political leaders to rise up against divisive tendencies as the nation march into the new era.
He frowned at the destruction of vital national installations including maritime and oil thefts, oil pipeline vandalism, cultism, armed robbery, militancy and other violent crimes.
He noted that such national malaise jeopardize the unity, peace and development of the country describing such vices as a threat.
