The new acting director general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr Haruna Baba Jauro, has approved the redeployment of some senior management staff of the agency.
The acting DG said in a statement yesterday that the new postings were expected to reposition NIMASA towards meeting its statutory mandate as enshrined in the agency’s establishing acts and other enabling instruments.
The deployment exercise has Mr Ibrahim Jibril, as the director of administration and personnel services department, Mr Felix Bob Nabena, as director of SERVICOM, while Mr Olayemi Abass, now heads the financial services department.
Also, Mr Suleman Abdulsalam, has been redeployed as the acting legal adviser; Mr Mohammed Sani, head of procurement department, while Hassan el-Yakub is new head of cabotage department.
Similarly, Hajia Lami Tumaka, has been returned back as the deputy director and head of public relations, while Mr Isichei Osamgbi, is now the head of maritime guard command.
Also, Mrs Aisha Musa, has been redeployed to head the western zone; Mr Dele Ejekuko, is in charge of zones in the DG’s office and Mr Eric Orji, is the acting registrar of ships.
