Man In Court Over Theft Of Generator

A 21-year-old man, Adekunle Oshun, was on Wednesday arraigned at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court over alleged theft of a Tiger brand of electricity generator valued at N14,000.

The accused, who resides at Meiran area of Alagbado, Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

The Prosecutor, Cpl. Ishola Samuel, told the court that the accused on April 24 stole the generator belonging to one Mr Oluwatobi Sanyaolu at his Alagbado residence in Lagos.

He said that when the accused was apprehended, he admitted stealing the generator and confessed that he had sold it for N10, 000.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.R. Onilogbo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50, 000, with a surety who must provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

Onilogbo adjourned the case to May 23 for hearing. (NAN)
