Kebbi State governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has sworn in 20 out of the 21 caretaker chairmen of local government councils in the state following their ratification by the State House of Assembly last week.
The occasion took place at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Birnin Kebbi, and was attended by a mammoth crowd of political supporters from all the 21 local governments in the state.
Governor Bagudu did not specify the tenure of the caretaker chairmen but warned them not to dismiss any staff of the local government irrespective of his or her political inclination without following due process of the law.
He urged them to serve the people diligently and see themselves as servants of the people and not their masters.
In another development , Governor Bagudu has approved the appointment of Abubakar Udu Idris as the new acting head of the Civil Service of Kebbi State.
The governor has also approved the appointment of two permanent secretaries.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries are Arc. Hamza Abubakar Musa, Works and Transport and Barrister Binta J. Shehu as acting permanent secretary and solicitor general, Ministry of Justice.
