The Managing Director, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr Saleh Dunoma, has commended the Aviation Security staff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for their vigilance.
This is contained in a statement by FAAN’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mr Yakubu Dati, in Abuja on Thursday.
The statement stated that Dunoma, particularly commended security personnel for their role in apprehending a suspected Boko Haram member at the airport recently.
It stated that the managing director made the commendation when he reviewed the security landscape with security staff after an unscheduled inspection tour of the airport.
Dunoma, the statement stated, declared that the performance of the officers was a demonstration that the investment in human resources development and government’s huge investments in facility upgrade were already yielding results.
It recalled that the diligence of FAAN security staff, in conjunction with other security agencies at the airport arrested another Boko Haram terrorist on surveillance mission at the airport.
The statement advised the security staff not to relent in their statutory responsibility of ensuring safety and security at the country’s airports.
