At least six people have been killed by suspected Boko Haram militants in Bala Mamman, about 5 kilometers away from Maiduguri, Borno State.
According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists also abducted four young women from the village, during the attack on Tuesday.
Some of the fleeing residents said the insurgents came into the village at dusk and started shooting and burning down the village with petrol bombs, killing six people in the process.
One of the fleeing residents, Bukar Modu, told journalists that some of them escaped by the grace of God.
Modu said, “It was by the grace of Allah that we escaped the attackers when they arrived. They were shooting in the air and burning down houses.
