The CEO of Adedas Company Global Services Limited, Prince Adedipe Ewenla has advised President Muhammad Buhari to appoint someone with experience to head the power sector as minister.
He said former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola is a lawyer turned politician who will need lots of time to understand the sector.
According to Ewenla, the present minister of power cannot solve the problem of power in the country, adding that, his position is evident in the dwindling generation and distribution of power across the country.
Ewenla also wondered why someone who was a governor of Lagos state for eight years and as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who could not build a law faculty in Lagos State University (LASU) can deliver as minister of power.
“I am not a politician but I can tell you categorically that during the past administration we enjoyed electricity than we are doing now.
“I think the president should as a matter of urgency appoint someone who has knowledge in electricity matters as minister of power that is the only way we can hope for better services in power.
Ewenla stated that Nigerians are suffering because of power shortage. “You cannot boast of three hours of electricity a day,” he lamented.
