The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara has sponsored the treatment of no fewer than 5, 000 patients who suffer from various ailments from 20 local government areas of Bauchi state.
The free medical services which commenced on Monday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital [ATBUTH], Bauchi will be rendered by a team of professional doctors known as ‘Doctors on the move Africa’ and would last for two weeks.
The speaker who disclosed this at the opening ceremony of the exercise, explained that the free medical services to be provided include; tests and screening on diabetes, blood pressure, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis.
Represented by a member of the House of Representatives from Misau/Dambam constituency of Bauchi state Hon. Ahmed Yerima. Hon Dogara added that ultra sound scanning, public health campaigns and surgeries of Lipomas, hernia, fibroids and goiter would also be conducted by the doctors during the two weeks exercise.
