The executive director, Victims Support Fund, Prof. Sunday Ochoche has donated N25 million to Taraba State Specialist Hospital and Wukari General Hospital respectively to provide free medical care for victims of insurgency in the state.
Speaking during the presentation of the cheques to the management of the two hospitals yesterday in Jalingo and Wakari, Prof Ochoche warned against mismanagement of the fund.
He stressed that the victims support fund will frown at any hospital that failed to utilise the funds for the said purpose.
“The era of corruption is gone, this fund was donated to these hospitals to assist in purchasing equipment, medication and consumables that would help to provide free and enhanced medical cares for victims of insurgency,” he said.
He noted that General T. Y. Danjuma who is the chairman of the Victims Support Fund Committee is an illustrious son of the state, stressing that it would be a disgrace if Taraba State fails to utilize the fund judiciously.
“We will work together with management of the hospitals to ensure that this fund is adequately used. We are here purposely to support the hospitals.
