‘111 Benue Workers, 171 Retirees Falsify Records’

No fewer than 111 civil servants in Benue State have falsified their records on grounds of age, just as 171 staff who have retired earlier were still found on the government payroll in 2015.

This is even as 90 staff with serious medical conditions that they cannot work were captured. Also over 1500 staff are yet to be confirmed after several years in the service.

The managing director of BASMAK Technologies, a private firm employed by the state government to carry out the biometric audit of Benue State civil servants, Mr. Prince Mkpang stated this yesterday in Makurdi while presenting the state biometric audit report to Governor Samuel Ortom.

He said a total of 18,143 employees were captured on the data base.

According to Mkpang, during the process of data integration, automation finger print identification system processing, duplication and integrity checks on the data, it was discovered that there is a total of 17,962 active employees on the new biometric data base.
