The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has commended Governor Ayodele Fayose, for his brave analysis on how Nigeria is being run by President Muhammadu Buhari.
PDP said if Governor Fayose had not been criticising what it alleged as Buhari’s dictatorial tendencies, the situation would have been worse.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti at the weekend by the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Jackson Adebayo.
Adebayo, who urged other PDP governors to support Fayose’s patriotic efforts in this regard, stated that the governor was making a great sacrifice to the nation.
Said he: “All members of the opposition should rise like Governor Fayose, to challenge all moves by the Federal Government to turn Nigeria into a Banana Republic.
“It has become imperative for all members of the opposition to rise against the Federal Government, with the way and manner with which President Buhari is handling matters of national importance.”
Adebayo also urged Nigerians not to fold their arms in the face of tyranny, but join Governor Fayose in his critical approach to the activities of the Federal Government.
He added: “If Nigerians decide not to allow this by voicing out their rejection of his policies, then ‘calamity’ could be prevented.”
The party also called on the President to always respect the rule of law upon which he rode to power, saying anything short of that portends bad omen for Nigeria’s democracy.
