The Borno State governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima has been commended for his timely intervention in resolving the crises rocking the Borno State Chamber of Commerce Industries and Mines (BOCCIMA) through the dissolution of the board.
The general manager of Maiduguri Monday Market Company Ltd, Alhaji Modu Kolo Dunoma made the commendation on Sunday in an interview with journalists in Maiduguri.
He described the intervention and subsequent dissolution of the two factions of BOCCIMA executives by Governor Kashim Shettima as right and timely decision.
The market leader said the intervention of the governor has averted what could have degenerated to unimaginable crisis that would have brought embarrassment to the state.
“Borno State cannot afford to witness another crisis that will affect human lives and property as we are still battling the ravaging insurgency activities that have kept the state at pitiable condition.
“The dissolution of the two factions of BOCCIMA executives is the appropriate thing to do bearing in mind the security situation in the state now.
“I enjoin all members and stake holders to remain law abiding, peaceful and supportive of government in the interest of peace and prosperity “, he said.
He also commended the governor over the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Ashemi as caretaker committee chairman, describing it as deserving.
Alhaji Dunoma appealed to all members to support him for mutual benefit and progress of BOCCIMA pending the election of new executive members.
Borno he said is undergoing a trying moment hence all hands must be on deck.
