Arsene Wenger’s bitter feud with Jose Mourinho, is not likely to end soon, after the Arsenal boss refused to allow Mourinho sit next to him at a UEFA conference.
According to Spanish newspaper, Marca, the new Manchester United manager arrived late to the event, as one of his Old Trafford predecessors, Sir Alex Ferguson, delivered a speech.
He spotted a seat opposite Paris Saint-Germain manager, Unai Emery, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane and next to Wenger. Mourinho reportedly asked if he could take the seat.
Marca reports that, without batting an eyelid, Wenger replied: “No, it isn’t possible.”
The other coaches in the room laughed at his response and Mourinho eventually had to find another seat.
Both managers have endured a strained relationship, since the Portuguese first arrived in England in 2004. And during his second stint at Chelsea, Mourinho famously called Wenger “a specialist in failure”.
