England and Manchester City defender, John Stones says he has enjoyed every bit of his time with club manager, Pep Guardiola, adding that the coach is even better than he predicted.
City have only been successful in two of their previous seven games in all competitions, losing their last two Premier League matches against leaders Chelsea and title holders, Leicester City.
Jamie Vardy completed a hat-trick from a poor back-pass from Stones in Leicester’s 4-2 win on Saturday, with City’s poor all-round defensive display prompting scrutiny of Guardiola’s training methods.
But Stones maintained that Guardiola is the best in the game.
The former Everton defender told Times of India, “He was 100 per cent a major factor, if not the main reason for me coming.
“There’s a lot of factors to think about when you’re moving clubs but in my eyes, he’s the best manager in the world to work with.
“To be given that opportunity to work with him, I couldn’t say no. And working with him has been even better than I expected.”
