FC Ifeanyi Ubah coach, Daniel Amokachi is optimistic his team could get a continental ticket if they win two consecutive home matches against Kano Pillars and Giwa FC of Jos.
Amokachi spoke on Sunday after his side lost 0-1 to Sharks of Port Harcourt in a week 29 Nigeria Professional Football League match at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt
He said his team had good chances of getting a continental ticket if they picked six points in two consecutive home matches and consolidate on their position in the league.
Amokachi, a Super Eagles assistant coach, said “our chances of getting a continental ticket is very realistic if we win our two consecutive home matches against Kano Pillars and Giwa FC.
“Its possible that we can get the ticket if we play well,” he said.
He said some mistakes by his team cost them the match against Sharks, saying mistakes are inevitable in every game.
Sharks Afeez Aremu scored the only goal of the match in the 64th minute.
Festus Allen, Sharks coach, commended his team for getting the three points at stake.
He said his team was determined to get out of relegation and remain in the premier league.
“Our win over Kano Pillars in a mid-week match boosted the morale of the players. Sharks will not go on relegation. I thank the players, fans and members of the supporters club for being with us,” he said.
