Chairman of the Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ado Sani Kiri, has refuted the rumour that there was an attempt by the House of Assembly to impeach Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar.
Kiri, who described the rumour as a figment of the imagination of its authors, said the governor had not committed any impeachable offence and could not be impeached.
He also frowned at the insinuation of disunity among APC elders following the disagreement over the nomination of the party’s flag bearers in the just concluded local government election.
He, however, added that, ‘’reconciliation committee had already been constituted to mend fences because of the aggrieved members who lost out at the primaries.”
Recall that the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had called for the impeachment of Governor Abubakar for allowing the 27 local government councils caretaker committees to stay in office after end of their tenure.
