Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, yesterday donated 100 hundred copies of Thompson Chain Reference Bibles to rural Christian workers in the state.
The host of the Conference of Tiv Gospel Ministers, Rev Thomas Shikaan of the Spirit Life Christian Ministries, disclosed this while introducing the governor at the closing session of the conference.
The event took place at the New Covenant Christian College International, Adaka, at the outskirt of Makurdi, the state capital.
Reverend Shikaan, on behalf of the ministers, expressed appreciation for the gesture.
He said the conference was organised to promote collaboration among ministers, raise spiritual and material support as well as foster mentorship between the elderly and the young.
One of the guest speakers on the occasion, Rev Samuel Alaha, urged the workers to encourage Christians to intensify agricultural and skills acquisition activities for the economic empowerment of their workers and to boost the economy of the state.
Governor Ortom urged the congregation to take Rev Alaha’s exhortation seriously, describing him as a respected man of God and prophet.
