The Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has said that the Federal Government will sustain renewal of Airport infrastructures in 2017 by driving remodeling projects in order to strengthen operations of the nation’s Airports.
Speaking at the 2017 budget defence in Abuja, the Minister explained that the Aviation sector will implement bilateral and multilateral Airspace Services agreement religiously in order to enhance internally generated revenue to meet up with the challenges of the sector.
“We have bilateral and multilateral Airspace Services agreement which we are going to pursue with vigour in 2017 in order to enhance our Internally Generated Revenue,” the Minister said.
He added that the Ministry will explore funding options at ensuring that a National carrier was established this year, noting that effortS were being made to develop key projects through public, private partnership.
According to him, the current administration has carried out reforms and enforced expatriate quota which was already yielding positive results for the nation’s Aviation.
The Minister further said plans were afoot to establish Aerospace University with the support of International Civil Aviation Organisation.
